23,542,614 Stand Up Against Poverty
Largest single coordinated movement of people in the history of the Guinness World Record

In just one day a breathtaking 23 and half million people in more than 100 countries around the world have set a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of people to "STAND UP AGAINST POVERTY".

The World Record number was announced (17 October), on the international day for poverty eradication, at events held at the United Nations in New York, London, Johannesburg, Milan and Nairobi following official confirmation from Guinness World Records.

The year 2006. With our meetup group we can add our names to this list. We are an online petition. We represent our country, "We the People" by definition are the government. If we have enough voices we can hold our government (united states) accountable to the promise they made at the millennium declaration, which was to have halved extreme povertry by the year 2015.
